With me traveling to Pokémon GO Fest: Jersey City this week in New Jersey, I found myself having to work hard to find the time to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons while juggling multiple time zones and working on my event coverage and also somehow finding the time to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 after waiting in the launch line at GameStop.
This is also the first time that I’ve really acknowledged that ‘yes, I write a weekly column.’ It doesn’t feel like I do, sometimes, since I only put anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more into Animal Crossing: New Horizons on any given day.
My plan for next week is to migrate all my Nintendo Switch save data from my Animal Crossing: New Horizons-themed console to my Nintendo Switch 2, and maybe that will give my game a real graphical boost.
I’ll be sure to let y’all know how it turns out!

Today, I just spent my time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons playing with Hugh inside my home. It is always interesting to have one of the islanders wander around my home and see what they have to say about the different things I have. He also gave me a garden lantern, which is nice! Except I already have a few that I’ve set up on the island.
I just don’t know why his thing is potato gratin…

Today was Camofrog’s birthday! I stopped by his home, and I saw Becky there to help him celebrate! It was fun checking out his home (I have not actually been since he moved in) and talking to them both.
Camofrog then put me on the spot by talking about what an amazing gift Becky gave him. I definitely panicked because I did not have anything on hand to give him…So I gave him what I had on hand: a garden lantern.
Yes, the same one that Hugh gave me the day before. I am officially a re-gifter, and I just hope it does not blow up on me later on.

Since I flew in for Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Jersey City overnight heading into today and I had already visited the event to get a lot of photography done early on, I was absolutely exhausted by the time I logged onto my island to see what was happening.
I checked out Nook Shopping and took the time to look at the seasonal items. I was surprised to see how many items were listed! And there are a lot of wedding things that I can pick up and buy, too.
I ordered both the handmade crown and handmade cape!

After Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Jersey City and seeing a friend of mine, I headed to the airport to fly out and spent a chill half-hour just roaming around my island, making Bells. I hit the money rock, found a money tree that had sprouted up, and harvested some crops.
Aside from getting stung by wasps, shopping, and other things…I ended up spending around 40,000 Bells to get so close to fully funding the ramp down to Redd’s beach!
Unfortunately, this is the first K.K. Slider concert that I missed in a while, since I played before the 6 PM concert start time.

Today was another low-key day.
I caught a bunch of butterflies and fish and sold them off when Blathers told me that he didn’t need any of them for the museum.
HOWEVER, I did finally find a new fossil that the museum didn’t have today! It was for Coprolites, and I was surprised to hear that even fossilized poop is something worth putting on display in Renassia.

Today, I finished paying off the blue ramp down to Redd’s beach! I dropped the last 12,625 Bells needed.
However, I wish I had done it sooner…because Redd also visited today. I had to use a ladder to get down to him, for the last time EVER, and I picked up a Basic Painting. I was staring quite closely at the hair of the painted figure, trying to remember if it was real or not.
I also finally dug up a bunch of plants south of the blue bridge I built a while ago, and I paved out a bunch of pathways around a rock. It is a very slow project, but I am quite happy that it is getting done. Eventually, I will someday have these flowers under control.

The biggest thing about summer is that there are a lot of insects to catch when Flick comes to town – especially with all the flowers growing everywhere. I sold him a LOT of butterflies and other insects today, and I ended up throwing some of that money at a climbing wall purchase from Nook’s Cranny. I’m not sure where I am going to put it up yet, but I definitely want to do it somewhere nice.
I donated the basic painting to Blathers, who was quite thrilled about it, and we held a ceremony for Renassia’s newest incline down by Redd’s beach! Finally, I stopped by the Able Sisters’ shop, and bought some new clothing that I am thinking that I am going to use for next week’s column…
