GungHo Online Entertainment America has announced that the North American and European releases of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will launch on September 19, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Clouded Leopard Entertainment also confirmed that they would release an Asian localized version (Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean) of the game on September 19 for the same platforms. Back in May 2025, it was previously reported that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter would launch in Japan on September 19. Nihon Falcom announced back in December 2024 that the game would have a simultaneous worldwide release. With these three announcements, a simultaneous release has been confirmed.
In addition to the release date confirmation, GungHo revealed the long-awaited Collector’s Editions that will be available for the game. There will be two editions available: The Steelbook Edition and The Bracer Edition.
The Steelbook Edition costs $79.99 and includes the following:
- Standard Edition game (Nintendo Switch™ or PS5®)
- Launch Celebration Pack (includes exclusive DLC costumes and Item Sets)
- Classic Style Estelle and Joshua (DLC costumes)
- Foil Embossed Slipcover
- SteelBook®
The Bracer Edition costs $179.99 and includes the following:
- All SteelBook® Edition Contents (Nintendo Switch™ or PS5®)
- “The Whereabouts of Light” Wooden Music Box
- Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Art Book
- Bracer Guild Notebook
- Original Mini Soundtrack CD
- Liberl Cloth Map
- Bracer Edition Box
According to GungHo, The Steelbook Edition will be available on launch day while The Bracer Edition will be delivered between November 15 and December 15. However, they also stated that The Steelbook Edition contents and the game itself will be shipped separately if you order The Bracer Edition, so those items will get to you by launch day. For those who are looking to buy the game on Steam, there will be no physical collector’s edition option. But, there is a Digital Deluxe Edition for $79.99 which includes the game and a Season Pass.
Pre-orders for these Collector’s Editions begin on June 17. North American pre-orders will be through Limited Run Games. European pre-orders will be through Clear River Games. Unfortunately, in response to a question on X, Limited Run Games stated that pre-orders would be limited and not an open pre-order.
