Another turning of the seasons this week, from spring to summer. It feels like spring just genuinely flew by this year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and I honestly didn’t notice it. When I first played Animal Crossing: New Horizons briefly in 2020, I never got out of spring, and so I’m back to just experiencing whole new seasons in the game- like I did with winter.

Who knows what exciting new adventures will await me this year in the game?…

If you missed last week’s installment of Tom Nook’s Snapshots, you can read it here.

Sorting through my inventory in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Today, Gayle taught me the Sadness Reaction! She did it through telling me a sad story that…really didn’t go anywhere, which was kind of weird.

I also picked up a DIY recipe for a wooden end table, and I worked on getting rid of a bunch of duplicate clothing in my inventory. I don’t know why I picked up two vampire outfits or why I have two outdoor shorts, but here we are. I am still trying to free up space in my home inventory until I have the cash on hand to expand my residence again, but it isn’t going as well as I wish.

Saharah came to visit my island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons today.

Hazel asked if she should move away from the island, tonight. I’m definitely starting to feel guilty about telling my islanders to stay when they don’t want to, anymore. If they were happy here, then they wouldn’t want to go, right?

In other news, Saharah visited today. I bought mysterious wallpaper and mysterious flooring from her with all my tickets that I’ve been hoarding since the beginning of the year. I got a Boxing-ring mat (which will be perfect for my gym room!) and a future-tech wall (which would be great to give to Celphalobot).

It’s funny, I don’t care that much for flooring or wallpaper, but I am pretty excited with what I got!

Completing the stamp rally in my museum.

With time running out for the museum’s stamp rally, I finally buckled down and did it.

I’ve never actually checked out the museum in full, and I was surprised to see both how full it was and how empty it was. There are so many different fossils and art pieces and creatures that I still have to collect and donate. My last wing was where the fossils are kept, and I was surprised at how gorgeously lit the entire area is.

I then capped off my evening by stopping off at Brewster’s Cafe, and he remembered that I liked my coffee on the cooler side! I know that’s not how he likes it, however. I ended up being served a piping hot cup of coffee that I downed at 176.13 degrees, and it was the perfect way to end my day.

K.K. Slider performs K.K. Grove for me and Hazel in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It is Saturday night, and that only means one thing: K.K. Slider! I know I make this post almost every week, but I really do love it that much.

This week, he played K.K. Groove for me and Hazel. It was definitely pleasant to listen to, and I actually asked for an encore performance of that song again afterwards! K.K. Slider was only too happy to oblige me for it.

Catching a firefly!

Today is the start of summer in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! I was quite surprised when Isabelle informed me about this during the announcements, as I wasn’t expecting it to happen.

I wandered around my island today to see what was different…and it turned out to not be that much. However, I DID catch a firefly! That was the first time I’ve ever managed to see one in game, and I ended up having to run all over the place to get it as it was flitting back and forth over the water.

Other than that, I got a mysterious phone call from someone named “Harvey” who was inviting me out to his island to take pictures of a couple…

Cephalobot givingrando advice notice about heartbreaks.

Cephalobot gave me some weird romantic advice tonight and tied it into the Heartbreak reaction.

I mean, I get where he is going with this (I think?), but it was still quite odd to hear it from him. While Heartbreak is “the tried-and-true way to communicate emotional agony in a pinch,” that wasn’t what I was expecting to hear about when I struck up a conversation with you, buddy.

I also gave him a future-tech wall today, and he was clearly less than enthusiastic about it. That’s surprising, considering it came from Saharah!

Wedding photo shoot on Harvey's Island.

Today, I stopped by Harvey’s island for the photoshoot.

When I landed, Wilbur told me that the “[t]ouchdown [was] like window shopping in a camera case- we are parked and proud!”, which made no sense as a simile.

Anyway, I found myself doing an anniversary shoot for Reese and Cyrus, “her main squeeze” because June is the wedding season month and they rented out the spot for every day to take photos in! Reese explained she wanted a re-creation of their entire wedding day, that the photo shoot take place in what looks like a wedding chapel, and it should use “plenty of pink and white”.

What I ended up doing was using a lot of the custom furniture designed by Cyrus to set up everything. I pulled out the lanterns to set up on either side of the couple to give them a bit of glow, and I dropped a ceiling decoration down to help highlight them as the main event at the wedding. When I took the final photo, I dropped the lights down and chose the painting filter to make it all truly pop.

In return, I got heart crystals that I traded in for a wedding bench, a wedding decoration, and a blue wedding rug.

All in all, a pretty successful day! I apparently did well enough that they even invited me back to do it again this month whenever I want.
