This has been a long, long week. More traveling, and I ended up getting quite sick from it. I am on medication, granted, but all I’ve wanted to do for the past few days is just lay down and sleep as much as possible.

I’m still maintaining my Animal Crossing: New Horizons streak, but barely.

I find myself a bit hamstrung with how I am limited by what Nook’s Cranny and Nook Shopping has listed for items every day, and I find myself wanting more options. I wish there was another expansion to the shop.

Now, if only Brewster’s Coffee was a real thing to keep me awake…

If you’ve missed last week’s Tom Nook’s Snapshots, you can check it out here.

Animal Crossing | Blathers says my art is fake.

Cephalobot sent me a rock-head statue in the mail. I was surprised to see that my fellow islander could actually send me art, as I normally just get clothing. This gift would have been amazing, except Blathers said it was a FAKE! While I do not quite know why one of my islanders would send me fake art, I unfortunately cannot have a very awkward conversation with him about it.

I don’t know quite what to do with it, and so I’m going to have to think about that.

In other news, I did purchase a Common Painting from Redd, as well, today. Hopefully it is authentic. I also went fishing, and dug up 1,000 Bells! I then planted another money tree in the spot.

Animal Crossing | Ditching the fake rock-head statue on an island.

I want to get rid of the fake art. Unfortunately, I cannot give it away to another islander (I tried to give it to Tybalt), and Nook’s Cranny won’t buy it. In fact, Timmy asked if we can “start over exactly where we were and pretend this never happened”.

I ended up using a Nook Ticket and flying via Dodo Airlines to a faraway island…and dumping it off there. It’s ridiculous that I had to go to such lengths to get rid of this fake art, but I don’t know what else I could do.

I also caught a crawfish! I also donated the Common Painting, and thankfully it was authentic.

Animal Crossing | Flowers covering the entire area.

I finally decided to deal with the flower problem on my island.

Flowers cover everything around my museum, and from the eastern red zen bridge to the Town Hall and up to the crops I’ve planted by the river. I’ve recklessly let the flowers grow unchecked, and that means that I am always walking around and frankly…it doesn’t look good.

I bought a couple tile paths from Nook Shopping, and I laid out a wooden pathway around the rock outside my museum, establishing a stone path from the town hall to the museum, and I put in a bunch of dirt paths around the crops to the northeast of the museum.

This took a lot more time to do than I expected. I kept having to dig up flowers, fill out my inventory, and then sell them off before going back and digging up more. It was very time consuming, and I am a little unhappy that I can’t just pave over flowers with a tile pathway.

Animal Crossing | K.K. Slider playing a secret song!

K.K. Slider came today to my island! As he does every Saturday.

I asked him to play one of my favorite songs while Goose and Hugh listened on, but I guess I misspelled it, because K.K. Slider played something ENTIRELY different.

He admitted that he didn’t know the song I wanted, so he “pulled one out of my back catalog.” I didn’t know that he even has a back catalog!

I wonder what the song was…

Pathways all over by the museum and the bridge to the Town hall.

The flowers started to grow over the dirt paths that I had set up for the crops behind the museum, so I dug it all up and covered it all with wood tiles. I then dug up a bunch more flowers around the museum, and I put in another stone tile pathway to go towards the red zen bridge.

It really helps to preserve both the flowers (I love the natural aspect of my island!) along with the practical needs of me being able to get around as needed. I also curbed the wooden tile edges around the museum.

I know it doesn’t sound like I’m doing a lot, but digging up and replacing flowers with tile pathways really takes a lot more time than you would expect!

Shaking down money trees.

When I tried to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons tonight, I was already incredibly ill. I really just wanted to head to bed, and not do anything.

I shook down a couple money trees that I had planted awhile ago, paid off the red zen bridge on the far western side of my island, and that was it.

I just didn’t have the energy to do more.

Nook Shopping Kiosk items.

Being ill continued unabated.

I somehow had the energy to pop on the game, check out Nook Shopping…and that was it.

I honestly didn’t want to do anything else.
