Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is coming in 2025 with a simultaneous launch on multiple platforms including PC. Recently, many of Falcom’s PC ports overseas, particularly those published by NIS America, were handled by PH3. PH3 has handled the ports for titles such as Trails of Cold Steel III, Trails into Reverie, Trails through Daybreak, Ys IX, and Ys X. The company also took over and overhauled the PC port for Ys VIII after its initial release, which originally received large negative reception due to its various issues. PH3 garnered a positive reputation for their stellar jobs in porting titles to PC, and for the improvements they brought to these ports. However, it looks like they will not be involved in handling the PC port this time around.
Game Spark recently reached out to Nihon Falcom regarding Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter‘s upcoming PC version, and the company confirmed that the port would be handled in-house. PH3’s involvement in the project is undecided. Dr. Peter “Durante” Thoman, the CTO of PH3, also confirmed that they are not involved with the PC version, but they are open to working on it.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is scheduled to launch in Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. What do you think about this news, would you like to see PH3 return to work on the PC version?
