At The Game Awards 2024, Capcom announced that a sequel to Okami is in development. The game is co-developed between studios which include staff who worked on the first game. The studios involved are M-TWO, Machine Head Works, and CLOVERS. Hideki Kamiya, the director of the first game back in 2006 and member of CLOVERS, returns to direct the sequel.

Okami first launched in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and featured Amaterasu as the protagonist. The sequel is currently in development, but not much information is available on the project at this time. If you’re interested in the sequel, you can check out its official website and X account.
