We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.

Dropkick on My Devil!!! X
The first part of the episode starts off with a discussion inside of Jashin-chan’s head between different versions of herself. It is a pretty out there part. This leads to a dropkick that ends with a wound from something that is a bit unexpected. The next part has to do with Jashin-chan disrespecting a Jizo statue, which leads to a battle with it. It is resolved with Jashin-chan attempting to leave an offering to it only to see it gone. Surprisingly, this connects to the final part of the episode. It focuses on Mei the police officer. I do like her appearances, and the fact she finally is able to interact with Pekola is something I’ve been wanting to see. It goes beyond that too as she abducts several other characters on the way back to her apartment. Hatsune Miku ends up being one of the kidnapped, and we see Mei has brought a number of new items to her apartment in the meantime. While I wasn’t too into the first part of the episode, I still think it was a pretty good one overall. – Walter

Is It Wrong to Try To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi)
This series is one I’ve been following since it first premiered, along with one I’ve started following the light novel of too (though I’m behind in that). Picking up where the last season ended, we see things being rebuilt and Bell has become even stronger. We see the Hestia Familia has been chosen for a new mission and much of the episode is preparation for it. The usual allies are joining Bell, and I was glad to see some characters reappear again like Aisha. The episode didn’t exactly have too much going on, but I thought it was a good way to start off the new season. I’m excited to see how the season plays out. – Walter

Hanabichan ~The girl who popped out of the game world~
I decided to randomly start this series up, and it is one with short episodes. It follows the new owner of a pachinko hall who inherited it from his grandfather. He discovers Hanabi in the hall, who ends up being a pachinko machine that became human. The series is a comedy and one with some random humor. It is something I think I’ll be keeping up with this season. I also do like the opening and ending themes, along with the illustrations they throw in with them. – Walter
