We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.

Love After World Domination
After what I thought was a more subdued episode last week, this one really had things moving. Desumi invites Fudo to her school’s festival, which has her class doing a maid café. This of course is something that Fudo knows he cannot miss. Things of course cannot be that easy. Fudo unfortunately brings along Blue Gelato and has to humor his requests. Desumi on her end has to deal with a clingy Hojo. One thing I liked about this episode was the numerous characters that make an appearance. We get a number of the Gekko Princesses, including a new one, along with Culverin Bear. Beast Princess definitely gets a lot of good moments in this one. The episode does end with the two getting a good moment together, plus we get to see that Desumi also gets a transformation like the Gelato members do. Like most episodes, we get an after credit scene, with this one focusing on some characters we’ve seen very little of. – Walter

Ya Boy Kongming! (Paripi Kōmei)
After Nanami’s reveal to Eiko, things are really coming up before the deadline for Eiko. Kabe has found his confidence and wins his rap battle. Eiko ends up impressing the producer and comes up with a name for her song. We also get to see more of Nanami’s producer and how he thinks. Nanami’s group, while having talent, is being forced into other methods to win support, such as money. In the most recent episode, we see how Kongming once again has his strategy cause havoc on the other side. Considering what the situation was, there were a number of risky moves. It ends with what will lead up to be probably a big moment for Eiko in the next episode.
On a side note, at the time of writing, the first volume of the manga is now up for free on kindle. – Walter

SPY x Family
Dodgeball has never been so serious. Once again, Anya is on a mission to earn a Stella (especially since she’s got a Tonitrus Bolt), but so is archrival Damian. And everyone in their class is convinced that being the MVP of the dodgeball game will earn that Stella. Yor tries to teach Anya how to properly throw a dodgeball (with varied success) while Damian’s crew looks up intel on their opponents. Turns out there’s one kid on the other team who has to be taken out at all costs – the hulking Billy, who is the size of a tank and can take out multiple kids with one dodgeball throw. Antics ensue, and it’s glorious. I love episodes like this that revel in the absurdity of the situation and show us what school life is really like at Eden College. Loid definitely took a backseat here, but it was nice to see Anya and Yor get some bonding time, as well as Anya’s budding love-hate relationship with Damian. – Leah
