Developers Aurogon Shanghai are pleased to announce that their upcoming Metroidvania, Afterimage, has been successful in it’s fundraising efforts over at Kickstarter, well surpassing it’s original goal and raising a total of $92,000. In response to their success the developers have prepared a special thank you trailer on their YouTube channel.
Afterimage takes place in the fantasy world of Engardin, a world once teeming with magic and fantastical beasts, but has becomes ravaged by warfare and human greed. The player assumes the role of a young girl named Renee who has lost her memory after a great calamity has devastated Engardin and it’s inhabitance. She must retrace her steps to recover her past.

BEIJING, CHINA – APRIL 26, 2022 – Developer Aurogon Shanghai announced today that its hand-drawn, 2D-animated action-adventure game Afterimage has wrapped up a very successful Kickstarter campaign raising over $92,000 surpassing the original goal of $14,978. Soaring past the initial funding goal in just 40 hours the Afterimage Kickstarter campaign saw support from over 2,500 backers, all who have pushed the game to receive additional gameplay areas, a boss rush stage, cutscenes with dubbing, more accessories, an additional weapon class, a new playable character and much more! Afterimage has received the funding it needs to reach its full game potential – the free playable demo can be downloaded from Steam.
