We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.

Sabikui Bisco
I didn’t expect the crazy mushroom anime to reduce me to tears, but here we are. I love a series that can give emotional highs and lows and constantly keep me guessing where it’s going, and Sabikui Bisco does not disappoint. Episode 9 was an absolute emotional gut-punch with a thoroughly satisfying confrontation between Bisco and Kurokawa that, while surprisingly light on action, nailed the weight and gravity of the situation perfectly. Pawoo also got a moment to shine and I really appreciated that after she’s been sidelined the last couple fights. Saying anything else about the episode would ruin the experience, so I’ll leave it at that. I love these characters so much. I cannot wait to see where this show goes next. – Leah

Princess Connect! Re: Dive
Picking up from the conversation toward the end of the last episode, Pecorine begins to get ready to tell the truth to the others of the guild. Here we once again see how Karyl is split between her two sides, something which we will see effect her greatly. There’s a festival and everyone is having a good time and Yuuki meets with Shizuru, Rino, and the owner of their crepe shop once again. Though seemingly calm, things take a turn and a pretty impressive fight happens. The end though shows that some negative things will be coming and ends on quite a cliffhanger. The next episode will be an interesting one. – Walter

In the Land of Leadale
Cayna navigates through a zombie infested village and ends up meeting up with other adventurers. They end up being ones she previously met and they end up also being players. One is a member of her clan, though his appearance here is of his second account, so Cayna didn’t recognize him. Finding that there is one survivor of what has happened, she summons a different character than before. Cayna and the others end up finding the boss causing the events and takes them out quickly. Finishing it off, Cayna ends up adopting the little girl who survived, adding to her family. Something I think will be interesting to see with how her other children will react to. – Walter

My Dress-Up Darling
Compared to previous episodes, this one was pretty low-key. We got to learn a bit more about Juju and the way she approaches cosplay, as well as a sweet talk between her and Shinju regarding the group cosplay with Gojo and Kitagawa. Speaking of that group cosplay, the shots that came out of it were really cute, too, and Gojo offered some insightful thoughts on what it means to love something and how hard it is to share that love with others. The back half of the episode had some truly lovely shots of Kitagawa, along with some wholesome lewdness and teasing. I still love her and Gojo together, even when he’s a dumb dumb who can’t just admit he wants to see her boobs. A shopping trip in Shibuya closes out the episode, where we learn Kitagawa has horrible fashion sense when it comes to her crush. Just a fun, laid-back episode. – Leah
