In a recent announcement made by Nintendo the company has announced it’s plans to acquire 100 percent of the outstanding shares of Next Level Games, a company based in Vancouver, Canada.

Although Next Level Games has released games for other consoles in the past, the company has a long history of working with Nintendo dating back to the 2005 release of Super Mario Strikers on the GameCube, and as recently as Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the Switch in 2019. Other Nintendo titles they’ve handled include Punch-Out!! for the Wii, Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon on the 3DS.  I’m sure we have more Nintendo properties to look forward in the future from Next Level Games.

The acquisition of Next Level Games is expected to be finalized by March 1st. Thanks to our friends over at Gematsu for the heads up on this one.
