ActRaiser | Vinyl Edition

The only CD printing of the ActRaiser soundtrack from 1991 has now been out of print for a long time. However, a new opportunity has arrived for those who would like to get their hands on it. Wayô Records is re-issuing the soundtrack in both CD and Vinyl formats, including a new orchestrated version.

The CD edition will include the original game soundtrack, but it will also include some unused tracks that have never been heard before. All of this will be on the first disc, while the second one will contain a special symphonic suite performance from the Ancient Festival in 2018.

Meanwhile, the 2xLP vinyl edition will include both the original game sound track and the symphonic performance, which were remastered by Shinji Hosoe. It will also include new illustrations created by Ayano Koshiro. The lucky first 250 customers will also get limited shikishi (artwork) that has been hand-signed by Yuzo Koshiro.

Both the CD and vinyl editions will be made available in limited quantities, and you can pre-order them from the Wayô Records international store at the links below. Pre-orders will ship sometime early this year, but specific timing has not yet been announced.

Wayô Records producer Jonathan Khersis gave the following comments on ActRaiser in the press release:

“ActRaiser was released 30 years ago and remains an intemporal classic. The game was a true revolution thanks to its amazing soundtrack that showed an impressive use of the Super Famicom sound chip. 30 years later, it is still acclaimed as one of Koshiro’s most renowned works. To celebrate this anniversary, we have summoned the ‘Master,’ and he’s back with divine announcements! We are excited to release the legendary ActRaiser Original Soundtrack with the newly orchestrated version in these luxurious remastered CD and vinyl editions, entirely illustrated by Ayano Koshiro!”

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
