In the spirit of their highly anticipated NO!-them up, Say NO! More, developer Fizbin Studio and Thunderful Publishing have said no to 2020. This is exactly in the spirit of the game, and gives them more time to make it even better. The press release says it will be coming to PC, Switch, Mac, and iOS next year. There are indeed plenty of things in life to give a big fat NO! to. The trailer is full of quite a few such things:
The game focuses on how the word NO! is no longer used as much as maybe it should be, as we live in a modern world of heavy focus on people pleasing. The press release mentions examples like the daily grind and the very common artificial smiles that we see every day! In the game Say NO! More, its your first day as a corporate intern… yay lucky you! Work continues to pile up on your desk and your superior is an ass who stole your lunchbox!
You happen to stumble onto a portable cassette player with a tape that is labeled “NO!”. Inside is the voice of a self help coach, who labels himself simply, Coach. Yea with that name he’s clearly lazy, but he teaches you how to say “NO!” again! Now its time to get in peoples faces and yell “NO!”, as you head out to change the world! Where will this new power lead you in the tongue-in-cheek story? You’ll just have to find out!
The game fancies itself the first NO!-them up, a new genre of its very own. Jump into on-rails NO!-shouting gameplay, featuring four different emotional states. It touches issues both timeless and modern, from friendship and social etiquette, to workplace standards. In the art department, Say NO! More also takes inspiration from the look of late ’90s video games. Studio Fizbin Game Director, Marius Winter, commented on the game and its development:
“It’s been a challenging year, but we’ve been relentlessly toiling away on our little No!-them up and the game is really coming together. The amount of things we’ve found to say no to over the course of our development has been staggering. We want this game to drop next year as a fun experience that anyone can play again and again. Hopefully it encourages you to think about saying no more too, it’s good for you!”
Thunderful Publishing’s Marketing Manager, Paulina Lorné, also had a few words to say about it:
“We hope everyone is excited to play Say No! More in 2021, we have big plans to make the most of the additional time we’ve now got, so please look forward to a lot more soon. In the meantime we wish you all a happy break as we ring in the new year, when Say No! More will bring its zany, No!-them up energy to our lives!”
