It was announced yesterday at The Game Awards that Oddworld: Soulstorm is coming next spring. The trailer lists the platforms as Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are already open on the Epic Games Store, but PlayStation gamers will have to wait a bit longer before they can pre-purchase a copy. Along with the trailer, Lorne Lanning (co-founder and president of Oddworld Inhabitants) has also posted a video message about the game’s upcoming launch and hectic development:

Born in a system where his race (the Mudokons) were trapped at the bottom of the food chain, Abe and company toiled endlessly at Rupture Farms. This terrible meat processing plant is run by a Glukkon named Molluck, who is part of the Magog Cartel. Things rapidly changed when Abe overheard a gut wrenching plan to turn Mudokons into food for the sake of more profits! Abe attempts to quietly escape, but soon realizes he must help all of his friends, as he can’t just leave them there to die! He is the spark that soon starts a movement!
Now, Oddworld: Soulstorm continues that story, as the movement grows larger. However, the enemy will use any means necessary to stop them. That includes both propaganda and brute force. They are well funded, so they have plenty of resources at their disposal, making them formidable adversaries. Just a few months remain until you can continue this dark story line, and see where Abe’s adventure takes him next! Check out a handful of screenshots below:
