It’s October 15th, 2020, time for another Nintendo Download! This time around we have three featured titles to take a look at. Minecraft Steve is now available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but I don’t think we need to cover him again here since we did last week. So let’s jump right into this week’s featured games.

Featured Games

Our first featured game in today’s Nintendo Download is Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. It brings the action of Mario Kart into reality. You control a physical toy kart as you race around your own custom courses that you setup in your home, and race with up to three friends. Each player needs their own switch, the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit game software, and a physical Mario or Luigi kart. Real-world objects become course obstacles to avoid as you speed around corners and down straightaways, but there are also virtual obstacles to watch out for. You can take on Bowser and the koopalings across eight different Grand Prix cups. As with mainline Mario Kart games, you can collect coins to unlock new in-game carts. You can also unlock new outfits for your character.

Note: The Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit software is a free download from the Nintendo eShop, but it requires either the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – Mario Set or Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – Luigi Set physical toys to play. Both sets cost $99 in the United States.

Our next featured game this week is Röki ($15.99 | $19.99), an adventure game inspired by Scandinavian folklore, with a moving story. Tove must explore a world of hidden and forgotten folklore. She will encounter strange locations, and bizarre monsters. Can you help her solve the mysteries of this world and save her family?

Today’s third and final featured title is The Jackbox Party Pack 7 ($29.99). It brings five new party games, all of which support 3-8 players, except the last one, which supports 2-6 players.

  • Quiplash3 – Enter a battle of wits by responding to quirky prompts, and vote on the winner.
  • The Devils and the Details – Become a family of devils struggling to survive in suburbia.
  • Champ’d Up – Create goofy characters who must battle for strange titles.
  • Talking Points – Give a speech in response to slides you’ve never seen, or be the Assistant who approves images as quick as they can. Your speech need not make any sense, just keep going!
  • Blather Round – Describe your secret prompt with a very limited vocabulary, and hope that your friends can figure it out before they run out of time.

Note: This game is English only, and multiplayer is local only.

Current Sales

The Nintendo eShop sales scene is rather quiet again for this Nintendo Download. They have two “Save $20 on select Nintendo Switch games” sales going on at the moment. One is at Amazon.com, and the other is at Walmart.com. As per usual, there are plenty of random deals and launch discounts sprinkled around the eShop as well. So that pretty much does it for the sales section this week.

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
