The Yakuza series has seen an amazing turn around this gen. It’s erupted from a cult classic series only on PlayStation, to Yakuza 5 being digital-only on PS3 for it’s initial North American release, to the roaring success of Yakuza 0 worldwide, and now it’s a successful series that’s playable on Xbox One and PC.
The Xbox Podcast hosted by Major Nelson features an interview with Scott Strichart, the Localization Producer of Sega of America, who has loved and labored on the series for five years. Scott shares new gameplay footage directly from the Series X set in the exciting and new location of Yokohama.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon, aka, Like a Dragon 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness, is the latest entry in the series and is headed first to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 13th. Sadly it will be available for PlayStation 5 on March 2nd, 2021, but owners of the PS4 copy will get a free next-gen upgrade for PS5.
