The first Uma Musume Pretty Derby anime was produced by P.A. Works and aired from April 2018 to June 2018 for 13 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan and describes the first season as follows:

Horse girl Special Week has moved from the country to the city to attend Tracen Academy. There, she and her classmates compete to win the Twinkle Series and earn the title of “The County’s #1 Horse Girl.”
