Evergate

Guide child-like soul Ki through a touching, heartwarming story about the afterlife in the atmospheric puzzle platformer Evergate, now available for the Nintendo Switch.

By firing her Soulflame at the crystals dotted throughout each level, Ki can collect and harness the mysterious power within them as she makes her way toward each level’s end gate. Experiment with the Soulflame’s time-slowing abilities to find new ways to traverse each level and collect more crystals to see how their energies combine. Build Ki’s essence counter by completing bonus objectives in each stage, and boost her abilities through ancient artifacts.

Developer Stone Lantern Games writes:

Dive into the touching story of two kindred spirits, guiding the child-like soul Ki on a journey through a beautiful and haunting afterlife. Reveal the memories of a life left behind, moving across time and space to uncover Ki’s mysterious connection to another soul.

Evergate features hand-drawn illustrations that help bring the beautiful and ethereal world Ki lives in to life. Composer Mike Miller scored an original orchestral soundtrack to compliment the visuals. He also took a music box lullaby he wrote for his infant daughter and incorporated it into the game as Ki’s theme and the game’s title music.

Features include:

  • A heartwarming epic spanning life and death and space and time
  • Open-ended puzzles inviting many solutions
  • World filled with power locked in crystalline form
  • Empowering artifacts to upgrade Ki and the Soulflame
  • Hand-drawn artwork creates wonder in every moment
  • Rich soundtrack evokes the magic of Ki’s journey

Evergate is available on the Nintendo Switch for $16.99 USD, and will release on Steam later this year.
