Ys Origin Switch

Limited Run Games and Dotemu are partnering to bring the RPG cult classic Ys Origin to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Fans in North America will have the option of two physical versions from Limited Run as part of the game’s global distribution, or they can download a digital version on the eShop.

Ys Origin combines combo-focused, arcade-paced combat, platforming, and challenging puzzles. Aspiring knight Yunica Tovah and mage Hugo Fact, two fighters desperately searching for the Goddesses that have abandoned them, must best the demonic forces lurking within an enormous tower before the beasts reach humanity’s sanctuary in the clouds. The Claw rounds out the main cast. With tons of powerful loot to earn, distinct scenarios and playstyles between each character as well as secrets to unveil, Ys Origin is a deep, compelling RPG experience.

From the publisher:

Following a devastating demonic invasion, the twin Goddesses use their magic to bring the inhabitants of legendary Ys safely into the sky. While the demons work to construct Devil’s Tower and reach the humans’ new abode, the Goddesses disappear. As a mighty warrior or a cunning mage, you must seek the Goddesses in Devil’s Tower. With your swordsmanship and spells, can you banish evil from the land of your ancestors?
