Crunchyroll Expo 2020 | Logo

The 2020 edition of Crunchyroll Expo has been cancelled, at least in its physical form, due to the unpredictability of COVID-19. The convention was originally scheduled to take place from Friday, September 4 – Sunday, September 6, 2020 in San Jose, CA, USA at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. The 2021 edition of the event has announced to take place in the San Jose Convention Center from August 6-8, 2021.

Fans who purchased tickets for the 2020 event will have the option to get a full refund or transfer their tickets to next year’s event. Additional details on the ticket transfer and refund process will be available at the CRX official website at a later time.

You can check out the CRX Team’s official statement below.

Hello Crunchyroll Expo fans,

We are very sad to announce that Crunchyroll Expo, at least in its usual physical form, will not take place this year. The health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is our number one priority and given the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 virus, we believe this is the right decision. Fans who purchased tickets to this year’s event will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer their tickets to next year’s event at this year’s price.

While this news is very disheartening, we are happy to announce that CRX 2021 will be held on August 6-8, 2021 at the San Jose Convention Center. Additional details on the ticket transfer and refund process will be available at expo.crunchyroll.com later this week.

Anyone who purchased a hotel room within our hotel block should have already received an email about their hotel booking cancellation and refund. If you have not received this info or if you have any additional questions, you can reach out to the CRX support team by emailing [email protected]. Exhibitors should expect to hear from our team directly this week, but can also speak with their regular Crunchyroll Expo contact to discuss next steps.

Crunchyroll Expo is our favorite time of the year because we get to celebrate the best and brightest in Japanese anime alongside all of you. While we won’t be together in person this year, please stay tuned to our social channels and expo.crunchyroll.com for updates on other exciting ways we plan to bring our community together under the Crunchyroll Expo banner this year!

Stay well and we’ll see you soon,
The Crunchyroll Expo team

CRX 2021 is scheduled to take place on August 6-8, 2021.
