After a month of voting, Anata-chan’s official name in the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club anime has been decided. Voting lasted from March 16 to April 16, 2020, and voters were able to choose from 12 fan-submitted names.
Fans were able to choose from the following names. The names and the reasoning behind the names are shown in the visual below (translated picture provided by Nijigasaki Perfect Fans Paradise).
- 星野結音 – Hoshino Yuine
- 真中双葉 – Manaka Futaba
- 皆野結 – Minano Yuu
- 横手紗々 – Yokote Sasa
- 白咲紡 – Shirosaki Tsumugi
- 高方結友 – Takakata Yuu
- 髙咲侑 – Takasaki Yuu
- 高浜きずな – Takahama Kizuna
- 青城千春 – Aoki Chiharu
- 彩川玲声 – Ayakawa Rena
- 五十嵐若葉 – Igarashi Wakaba
- 一ノ瀬緑 – Ichinose Midori
Out of the 12 names available, Takasaki Yuu won the poll. The one who submitted the option gave the following reason for the name (translation taken from the picture above):
I wanted a name with the character “高” because of “Kousaka (高坂)” & “Takami (高海)”. The character “咲” comes from “Nijigasaki (虹ヶ咲)”. Her first name comes from the fact that the word “Anata” = “You”, and so I went with “Yuu-chan”. The character “侑” can also mean “to help”, so it’s perfect for Anata-chan, who is supporting the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.
The Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club TV Anime is currently in production. No release date is available at this time.
