Originally released exclusively on PlayStation VR, Ghost Giant, the touching tale from the developers behind Fe, Stick It to The Man and Flipping Death, now makes its debut on Oculus Quest.
The exciting puzzle adventure filled with warmth and charm sees a lonely boy named Louis befriend a giant ghost visible only to him. As the Giant, players have to carefully build trust with Louis and help him through small, big and sometimes overwhelmingly huge obstacles, discovering the true meaning of friendship along the way.
Players will get to explore the world of Sancourt, helping its citizens with all manner of day-to-day problems by using the giant’s size and strength. The game offers a unique, crafty-looking dollhouse world which can be manipulated in multiple ways through point-and-click gameplay and is full of hidden secrets.
oprainfall’s Quentin H gave his first impressions of the game following both E3 2019 and GDC 2019. “Instead of doing puzzles for the sake of doing puzzles, Ghost Giant integrates the puzzles into moving the storyline forward and building your relationship with Louis,” he writes. “This blending of gaming elements is what makes Ghost Giant truly work as a game, and is what makes me want to push a little bit further with each level of the demo I played.”
Zoink’s aim is to recreate the feel of exploring a doll’s house in VR by lifting furniture off the roof and playing around with trinkets and furniture inside, while also giving players a purpose and sense of scale to deliver something truly special and memorable.
Ghost Giant releases on the Oculus Quest Feb. 20, 2020.
