While last week’s Nintendo Download was a bit disappointing for me, this week is off to a better start. For one thing, there’s a featured title this time, and it’s one I’m personally quite fond of. For another, there’s the usual sales and even a bunch of digital games (finally). So join me as I help cover the latest and greatest Nintendo goodies in this week’s Nintendo Download!
This may be a contentious opinion on the oprainfall site, but I was a big fan of the original Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. I’m very rarely overly bothered or concerned by the localization of games, so long as they are fun and play well, and the first game had both qualities in spades. So now that we’re getting the remake on Switch, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, I’m very excited. Especially since it has some new content and is out in just a week or so! If you’re not convinced, stay tuned for oprainfall’s upcoming review of the game, to be covered by yours truly.
It wouldn’t be a proper Nintendo Download without some sales, so let’s see what the Game Guide gods have to offer us. But I’m gonna handle that a little differently today. There’s so many 2020 sales being offered by many, many publishers that I’m instead just going to focus on those, since they will take up the majority of the offered discounts today. The publishers whose discounts I’m gonna discuss are the following – Capcom, Devolver Digital, Inti Creates and XSEED. Oh and one more that just falls under the banner of a general New Year Sale. All of these deals are available until 1/16.
First up, Capcom has a bunch of stuff worth checking out. Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 2 are on sale, as well as pretty much the entire roster of Resident Evil games available on the Switch. 3DS fans can check out the many Phoenix Wright adventures, as well as many assorted Mega Man titles. If you love art, there’s the wonderful OKAMI HD. Or perhaps you wanna punch some thugs in the Beat ‘Em Up Bundle. Either way, Capcom has over 30 games for you to check out.
The good folks at Devolver Digital always have an eclectic assortment of titles, and today is no different. I admit to not having played all of them, but I can confidently assert the following are worth a shot – Ape Out, Broforce, Crossing Souls, Downwell, Enter the Gungeon, Gato Roboto, GRIS, Katana Zero, The Messenger, My Friend Pedro and The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse.
I’m a fan of Inti Creates for their artistry and challenge, and this assortment of titles does a wonderful job of showcasing both. There’s the Azure Striker GUNVOLT: STRIKER PACK, Blaster Master Zero, Blaster Master Zero 2, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Luminous Avenger iX, Mighty Gunvolt and Mighty Gunvolt Burst. All well worth checking out.
You never know what you’re gonna get from XSEED, and that’s a big part of what makes them great. They have multiplayer fun like BurgerTime Party!, horror like Corpse Party, Musou titles like the Fate/EXTELLA games, retro magic like Freedom Planet, and even the musical madness of Gal Metal.
Finally, here’s some of the games worth a look from the New Year Sale. ARMS, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Celeste, Children of Morta, Dead Cells, Fire Emblem Awakening, Jotun: Valhalla Edition, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Moonlighter, Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Stardew Valley, SteamWorld Dig 2, SteamWorld Quest and Wargroove. Here’s some digital goodies out for next week’s Nintendo Download. There’s the Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack, featuring Ayesha, Escha & Logy and Shallie. Additionally, all the games in the Trilogy will be sold individually as well. Then there’s the madness of Jump Gunners. Or if you love retro, you should definitely look forward to Squidlit.
Lastly, here’s some worthy digital titles for this Nintendo Download. Retro fans can check out Arcade Archives Penguin-Kun Wars. Fans of pretty colors and pumping beats should take a gander at 140 and THOTH. For something strange, try Aborigenus and Invisible Fist. And finally, for some puzzling fun, try Sir Eatsalot and Technosphere.
Not a bad week for the Nintendo Download, and definitely more exciting than last time. Thanks as always for joining us here at oprainfall for your weekly dose of gaming goodness, and be sure to tune in next time!
