Well guys and girls, I wish I could say this is an amazing Nintendo Download to start off the New Year. But it just so happens this one is kind of barren. There’s no featured titles, no events, not much of anything. Other than a few sales and some new digital games. Nevertheless, I enjoy sharing news via the Nintendo Download, so let’s see how meaty we can make this segment today.

I know I said there wasn’t much new in today’s Nintendo Download, and that’s true, but thankfully there is more than one sale happening. The good folks at NIS America, Square Enix and Team17 have done their level best to make today better, and have strong sales happening. Though both Square Enix and Team17’s sales end tomorrow, while NIS America’s sale lasts until January 9th. So you might want to jump on some of these sooner than later.

Let’s start with Square Enix’s sale. They have some good discounts on several games, though I’ll only highlight the best ones. There’s a mix of remakes, new stuff, experimental titles and more worth checking out. Here’s the highlights – Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY!, Collection of Mana, Fear Effect Sedna, FINAL FANTASY VII, FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered, ONINAKI, Romancing SaGa 2, THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY CURTAIN CALL and WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY MAXIMA.

Next up is Team17. I admit not being very familiar with them until recently, but found they have a very diverse group of published games. Here’s the ones you absolutely have to check out – Blasphemous, Yooka-Laylee and Yoku’s Island Express.

Finally, here’s what NIS America has to offer. Keep in mind this particular sale lasts the longest. Try these out – Culdcept Revolt, Destiny Connect, Disgaea 1 Complete, Disgaea 4 Complete+, Disgaea 5 Complete, Fallen Legion, GOD WARS The Complete Legend, Labyrinth of Refrain, The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, The Longest Five Minutes, The Lost Child, SNK 40th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION and Touhou Gensou Wanderer Reloaded. Finally let’s close it out with some digital games. Normally I split those in each Nintendo Download, but there’s so few that I’m combining them this time. For some weird combat, check out BATTOJUTSU this week and Blackmoor 2 next week. And if you love cute girls on your Switch, check out Nurse Love Addiction and Nurse Love Syndrome. That’s it for digital games today!

Thanks as always for checking out oprainfall for your weekly Nintendo Download. Sorry this first installment of 2020 was so short, but be sure to tune in later this month. I have a feeling things will pick up the farther we get into January.
