In this golden age of visual novels creativity is on the rise, today we take a look at Cerulean Days. This blend of romance, comedy, mystery and suspense needs your help to become a reality. To clarify, this title is under development by LeafCascade who have crowdfunded two other titles. Those titles are Winter’s Symphonies and Anomie. With the backing of popular artist Sunako, the developers will aim for a 20 hour reading experience unlike any other. LeafCascade hopes to get near $12,000 for base funding with stretch goals leading to $22,000. The $22,000 mark is important as it will fund the 18+ version of the title. The project’s page will be up for 23 days as of this writing with a demo available for potential backers. Furthermore, if you like what you see, it will only take $13 to secure a copy on August 2020.
What are the developers ambitions with this title?
Hello, and nice to meet you! I’m Leaf, the writer and project lead for Cerulean Days.
What I’m about to type out is almost surreal to me, but as of this year, I have over three years of visual novel development experience. My goal is to – at some point, now or in x years – to become one of the leading visual novel developers in the west. The passion I have for the medium and my own creations is rivaled by no other hobbies of mine. And I hope that’ll show in everything I create both now and in the future!
For Cerulean Days, I’m going with an easy to digest, funny, character-focused novel with attractive and lovable heroines that’ll cause heart palpitations to anyone fond of 2D girls. All when you least expect it of course, in the most mysteriously intimate way possible. Anyway, I hope you’ll like them as much as I do, because I had a great deal of fun designing them. The island setting was an afterthought, but I love the atmosphere of subtropical islands, and I suppose it’s also a way of living out my fantasies of living elsewhere than the normally cold and dark Sweden! This summer’s heatwave suggests otherwise though – maybe moving even further north wouldn’t be such a bad idea…
I have and I will put a lot of love into the game. I hope we make it, so you can see everything come to life yourself! If you support Cerulean Days, you support people whose dreams consist of creating wonderful experiences and art for everyone to appreciate.
Thank you for reading, and until next time!
