KOEI TECMO America and GUST Studios have announced the localization of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, the latest installment in the Atelier franchise. The game will launch on October 29, 2019 in North America and November 1, 2019 in Europe for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout begins an all-new storyline arc in GUST Studios’ fan-favorite Atelier series. The beautiful role-playing game follows the exploits of teenage tomboy Ryza, who dreams of escaping her mundane village lifestyle, alongside her band of mischievous friends. One day, as they explore a forbidden island in search of adventure, they meet an elderly magician who will change their lives forever. After some convincing, the old man begins teaching Ryza the enchanting ways of alchemy; launching her on an adventure that will ultimately lead her on a quest to save her hometown from the mysterious and deadly darkness lurking beneath the surface.In order to showcase the vibrant environments surrounding Ryza, GUST Studios instituted more realistic shadows; giving birth to a world that feels more expansive and filled with life. In addition, the fantastical depictions of the game’s colorful characters continue – pushing the series forward with a mix of both new and familiar visual sparkle.Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout also introduces RPG fans to an all-new evolved synthesis program that enables alchemists to visually have a better understand of the effects of synthesis. Additionally, the system allows everyone to not only enjoy the experience of developing recipes, but the ability to use the innovative creation system to gather items in the field using various tools — different tools uncover different items at the same location — before crafting unique items never before seen in the series.

The main cast of the game is as follows:
Reisalin “Ryza” Stout (voiced by Yuri Noguchi)
An ordinary girl whose unique characteristic is the fact that she is just that – ordinary. Ryza has a wild and tomboyish personality with a strong sense of justice. While she can be stubborn in her convictions, her heart is in the right place. Her whole world is turned upside down during an extraordinary encounter.
Lent Marslink (voiced by Takuma Terashima)
Childhood friend of Ryza and Tao. Due to the events of his past, Lent is treated as outcast in his village. Using this as his drive, he hopes to accomplish a great achievement and prove himself to the villagers. He has a heart of gold and acts as Ryza’s moral compass when things get perilous.
Tao Mongarten (voiced by Yui Kondo)
Childhood friend of Ryza and Lent. Tao always walks around with a cryptic old book he found in the basement of his house. Since he’s continually trying to decipher it, the villagers consider him to be eccentric. Although he’s timid and not the best at socializing, he never abandons his friends. He has a thirst for knowledge that borders on being obsessive, and an extraordinary ability to concentrate.
Klaudia Valentz (voiced by Hitomi Ōwada)
Because she is always travelling together with her merchant father, she hasn’t had the opportunity to make any friends. Although she has a gentle personality, there’s a hidden side to her that is decisive and resolute, and she possesses an unexpected amount of courage.
