Well folks, this Nintendo Download is a short one. I suppose that was a given since last time was much more robust. But that’s okay, there’s still some fun stuff worth checking out. Besides a couple featured titles, there’s sales and digital fare to enjoy. So let’s jump right in with a duo of interesting titles.
Whenever I heard “award-winning” used to describe a game, I pay some attention. The game in question today is Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. This Swedish fairy tale now features a 2 player mode on Switch. If any of that sounds appealing, you’ll be able to check it out starting May 28th. The other featured title is one that should appeal more to you, our lovely audience. It’s none other than SAO: Hollow Realization Deluxe Edition. This edition of the game not only features the main game, but the “Abyss of the Shrine Maiden” and “Warriors of the Sky” DLC thrown in. So if you like the Sword Art Online series, you have a lot to be excited about. Next, let’s check out some sales.
It wouldn’t be a Nintendo Download without some sales, and thanks to the Game Guide functioning, we have a few to share this week. I’m gonna start with something I don’t normally cover, a pre-purchase offer that gets you a discount on an upcoming game. That title is none other than Gato Roboto, a delightfully weird Metroidvania featuring a cat and a mechanized power suit. If you pre-purchase it, you’ll save 15% off the full price. Which isn’t a bad deal for a game I loved at PAX West. But let’s move onto the regular sales now.
If you’re a fan of the weird side games Game Freak cobbles together, you’ll be interested in Giga Wrecker Alt. (Switch) for $18.74; for those looking for colorful mayhem, there’s Bot Vice (Switch) for $7.99; for a discount so steep it’s crazy, check out War Theatre (Switch) for a mere $0.99; or to relive Breakout, try Strikey Sisters (Switch) for 7.99; to take a chance on robots, try Robothorium (Switch) more than half off at $5.99; those who love Bomberman might enjoy the odd Mad Age & This Guy (Switch) for $1.14; for a steep challenge, try Odium to the Core (Switch) for $0.49; for another super discount, try to Escape Doodland (Switch) for $0.99; if you love party games, try out Battery Jam (Switch) for $7.49; for ninja rabbits, try Ninjin: Clash of Carrots (Switch) for $7.49; or for some puzzle platforming, try Spectrum (Switch) for $2.99; if you enjoy crafty platformers, check out Yoku’s Island Express (Switch) for $9.99; for colorful insanity, try out Furi (Switch) for $9.99; or if you love beating up your friends, get Brawlout (Switch) for $9.99. That’s pretty much it, though if you want to see the other games, including 3DS and Wii U sales, just click here.
For digital games, the following are all out starting next week. For those looking for unique horror, try Among the Sleep – Enhanced Edition. For some turn based strategy, check out Battle Worlds: Kronos. Fans of puzzle games have Chime Sharp and Crystal Crisis to look forward to. Or if you love sandbox games, there’s TerraTech. And lastly, for ARPG fun, check out Lapis x Labyrinth (or just stay tuned for our upcoming review). Now, let’s move onto the digital games out this week in Nintendo Download.
If you love you some retro games, you have Arcade Archives Buta San and Wonder Boy Returns Remix. If you somehow missed it last week, check out the Castlevania Anniversary Collection (or just stay tuned for my upcoming review). For the original over the top fighting game, try out Guilty Gear. Or for a horror game rooted in the past, check out Back in 1995. To play god, try out Light Tracer. Or to be a heroic skeleton, try Skelly Selest. And finally, for a beautiful and unusual game, you might enjoy Heroine Anthem Zero episode 1.
Overall, not a bad week for the Nintendo Download. Thanks as always for joining oprainfall for our weekly coverage of Nintendo goodies. Be sure to tune in next time for even more games worth playing.
