PQube has announced that they will be publishing Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition, a compilation package of the original Guilty Gear and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R on Nintendo Switch, both of which have been previously announced for release on the platform by Arc System Works. As such, both games will be available separately digitally, as well as the physical compilation. The original Guilty Gear is also seeing a release on PS4, as well as Arc System Works bringing the game to Steam.
Guilty Gear was first released on PlayStation in 1998 by Arc System Works. Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is the sixth released version of Guilty Gear XX, releasing in 2012 in arcades and from 2013 onward on PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360 and Steam. The most recent iteration of the series is Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2, released in 2017 as a DLC update to Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator on PS3, PS4 and Steam.
The Switch release of these fighting games with Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition is part Arc System Works’ gradually growing support for the platform, alongside BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle last year and BlazBlue Centralfiction Special Edition in February and a handful of smaller titles, such as Eat Beat Deadspike-san and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap.
Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition on Switch, along with the original game on PS4, will release in spring of 2019.
