Developer Cat Nigiri is excited to announce that their two-button Metroidvania, Necrosphere Deluxe, will arrive later this month on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita consoles. It will arrive on Xbox One a little later, but for the Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, Necrosphere Deluxe will arrive on January 31st, 2019. The Xbox One version will arrive sometime in Q1 2019 according to the press release. The game originally released on Steam back on August 31st, 2017. You can check out our Necrosphere Review, too.

Necrosphere

Necrosphere Deluxe is an adventure platformer with retro, minimalist controls. The simple two-button control scheme is easy to pick up, but the adventure is quite challenging. Super-secret agent Terry Cooper awakens within the Necrosphere after dying during a dangerous mission. This purgatory of sorts is full of deadly enemies, nasty obstacles, and dangerous traps, but death is no escape. Upon dying in the Necrosphere, Terry will simply respawn with no choice but to keep trying. It’s either that or stay trapped in the Necropshere for all of eternity! Cat Nigiri founder, Caio Lopez commented on the game:

“We designed Necrosphere Deluxe to challenge the masters of super-hard platformers while being approachable for people new to the genre. Necrosphere Deluxe’s simple controls and bite-sized but devilish trials will help new players improve their skills while simultaneously presenting hardcore platformer fans with the most difficult game they will ever play with two buttons.”

Terry can make use of some tools to help him overcome the obstacles that stand in his way, though. He can reach new heights by bouncing off of gravity bubbles or with the jetpack. There are other items to find and utilize as well. His partners will try to guide Terry by sending him messages from the NormalSphere, where Terry can return to if he could only escape the twisted depths of the NecroSphere.

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
