With the 2018 holiday season in full swing, Final Fantasy XIV has kicked off its annual Starlight Celebration event. Running from now through December 31st, this year’s event is placing an emphasis on singing. An Ishgardian choral performance is in desperate need of singers and you could be the one to help. Your troubles won’t go unrewarded though. Completion of the Not-So-Silent Night quest will net your character a “Choir Costume”, complete with a matching hat, robe, and shoes. Participation in the event at large will reward players with a number of home decorations like the “Silver Starlight Sentinel”, “Starlight Donuts”, and the “Evercold Starlight Snowman”. Additional goodies include collectable “Opened Twinkleboxes” (containing a variety of surprises) and “Starlight, Starbright Orchestrion Rolls”.
In addition to the main event, players can also look forward to brand new details about Patch 4.5: Requiem for Heroes. Streaming live on Friday, December 21st, a new installment of Letter from the Producer will relay new details about the patch and provide a first look at its new trailer.
If the patch alone won’t satisfy you, Square Enix also announced that during a Paris Fan Festival taking place on February 2-3, 2019, new details surrounding the new Shadowbringers expansion will also be unveiled. They will add on to these details just a month later at the Toyko Fan Festival (March 23-24, 2019). Both events will be streamed in full on the official Final Fantasy XIV Twitch channel. You can also visit the game’s official website for additional updates.
