Nintendo has announced a very Halloween-heavy Splatooween for Splatoon 2. Starting October 19th and ending on the 21st, a 48-hour Splatfest will take place, pitting the venerable Team Trick against Team Treat. Meanwhile, the Inkopolis Plaza will be bedazzled in Halloween-periphery.

Special Halloween-themed gear will also be added into Splatoon 2 starting October 5th, via the Switch’s News channel. You’ll need to be subscribed to the Squid Research Lab Report News Channel in order to receive the pertinent gear items.
Voting for Team Trick or Treat begins October 10th. The October Splatfest will utilize the updated Splatfest rules begun in version 4.0, and paid online is required to play.
Oprainfall doesn’t normally cover Splatoon 2 Splatfests given their mundane regularity, but a Splatfest as decked out and thematically special as this one is notable. Keep on the lookout for any (unconfirmed) holiday Splatfests in the future.
