Publisher Kadokawa Games has announced that Visual Novel Root Letter sold 400 000 unit over the world. Those sales include physical copies and digital downloads. The game was released for PlayStation 4, PS Vita, PC, DMM Game Player, and Yahoo! Game Plus, iOS and Android. The story is about a letter delivered 15 years late, which explains how an old pen-friend was involved in a murder before disappearing. The game encourages the player to investigate about the murder by searching for clues, looking for evidence and exploring environments, and includes five different endings
