Sentai Filmworks is gearing up for the anime Winter 2018 season with two new acquisitions: Takunomi and Hakumei and Mikochi. Takunomi follows a young woman who bonds with her other boarding house tenants with food and wine while Hakumei and Mikochi follows the adventures of two small fairies. Both series premiere next month in Japan and will be made available for streaming exclusively on HIDIVE.

Sentai Filmworks’ New Acquisition of ‘Takunomi’, Deserves a Toast
HOUSTON TX, DECEMBER 27, 2017 – This Winter 2018 season is full of great food and drinks for all the fans of Sentai Filmworks. We’re happy to announce that we have acquired the adaption of Haruto Hino’s manga, known as ‘Takunomi’.
‘Takunomi‘ follows the story of Michiru Amatsuki, a 20-year-old woman who just moved to Tokyo to change jobs. She lives in apartment 101 of Stella House Haruno, an all-female boarding house. There, she meets other women of different ages, jobs, and personalities. They all have something in common though: their love for good food and drinks.
The series will start in the Winter 2018 season and will be available for streaming exclusively on HIDIVE starting in January 2018. ‘Takunomi’ comes to Sentai from Production IMS’ studio. It is directed by Kobayashi, Tomoki (‘Akame ga Kill!’) and Katsuhiko Takayama (‘ef: A Tale of Memories’, and ‘Sakurada Reset’) is working on the script. This new story with Slice of Life, Comedy and Shounen elements is sure to have some good times for all.

Sentai Filmworks Wins Big with the Small Forest Girls of ‘Hakumei and Mikochi’
HOUSTON, TX, DECEMBER 27, 2017 – They are just 9 centimeters tall, but these little fairies will start their adventures as Sentai Filmworks’ new acquisition for the Winter 2018 season.
While Hakumei is cheerful, outgoing and prefers to be outside, Mikochi is more introverted and prefers to stay indoors. These differences will set the tone for their friendship. Riding on insects and birds, creating tools from the forest and living their normal lives, they’ll show us how day to day chores can be the biggest adventure in a small world full of wonders.
‘Hakumei and Mikochi’ is an adaptation of the manga by Takuto Kashiki. It is directed by Masaomi Andou (07 Ghost, Fairy Tale) and produced by Lerche (Assassination Classroom, Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls). It includes elements from the Slice of Life, Seinen and Fantasy genres that will give dynamism to their small forest lives. ‘Hakumi and Mikochi’ is scheduled for a January 2018 broadcast in Japan. It will soon be available to stream on HIDIVE, with a home video release to follow.
