Penguins Wars, originally an old arcade game from 1985, is now being brought back by Dispatch Games and coming west for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Although, this is not the same game as back in the day. Basic rules of throwing balls at your opponent are still the same, but now there are also new rules with a twist for both new and veteran players to enjoy. In addition to this you’ll find a new a story mode to power up the various character options available, online multiplayer, Switch exclusive local multiplayer(including optional vertical play) and an updated version of the original 1985 soundtrack, remixed by notable Japanese musicians, With online multiplayer you can either match-up with friends, or play against random match-ups in Gira Gira land. On Switch with local multiplayer, you’ll pick your set of rules and characters, then play with up to 4 players. Tabletop mode lets players play while standing in front of each other like the old arcade days. Penguin Wars releases simultaneously for both North America and Europe sometime in 2018. There will even be a physical Limited Launch Edition version of the game available, which adds in a digital download code for the complete soundtrack, a $30 value.
