Imagineer

Imagineer

Japanese developer, Imagineer, said in a recent announcement that they are working on a new Nintendo Switch title. They are also working on two other titles for portable consoles, though no specifics were given on which systems they are for.

Their press release says the company’s goal is to create “hit contents” within the gaming industry. In July of 2016, they merged with their subsidiary, Rocket Company. They now aim to bring together their combined knowhow and resources to keep producing new titles for popular franchises.

Nintendo Switch

Imagineer has expressed great interest in the Nintendo Switch’s new possibilities regarding how games can be played and its concept of “play whenever, wherever, and with whoever,”. As such, they’ve been developing their first title for the system, and hope to launch it by the next fiscal year.

For two decades, Imagineer has worked on titles in the fan-loved Metabots series. They’re recent press release said they are working on two new titles for other portable systems. Since the Metabots games tend to come in two versions, this may be referring to the latest entry in the series for 3DS. Releasing with two versions is rather remiscent of Pokémon. Of course, modern technology makes this dual version idea essentially obsolete since players can now trade online.

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
