The official title of the sequel to the hit Disney animated movie Wreck-It Ralph has been revealed. Titled Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, the film has the main characters from the first film break out of the arcades and exploring the world wide web. The directors of the first film, Rich Moore and Phil Johnson, will be returning for this sequel, with Johnson confirming the return of Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz, Fix-It Felix and Sergeant Calhoun from the original. Johnson goes on to say: “At the center of this film, as in the first one, is the relationship between Ralph and Vanellope, two once-outcasts, who in each other, found true friendship.”
The original movie was well known for featuring cameos from many famous video game characters, including Bowser, Zangief, Sonic the Hedgehog and Q*bert. While mostly cameos they helped add a little flavor the Ralph’s video game world. It’s unknown whether the sequel will feature such cameos this time around. Ralph Brecks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 will hit theaters on March 9, 2018.
