A new entry in the Fafner franchise was announced today. Titled Sōkyū no Fafner THE BEYOND, a promotional video is set to release for the project on January 6th. Not much else is known about the anime, though the official website did release a visual (pictured above).
The news comes straight from the “‘Sōkyū no Fafner’ Minashiro Soshi Seitan-sai” (Sōkyū no Fafner Soshi Minashiro Birthday Festival) event. Funimation and Crunchyroll have streamed several of the Fafner series. Here is Funimation’s description of the original show that started it all:
