Nier Automata | Day One Edition

During the Playstation Experience event today, Square Enix announced the release date for Nier Automata for the west. The game comes out March 7th, less than two weeks after the Japanese release. Furthermore, a demo was announced, but no word yet when we will be seeing that other than “soon.”

Square Enix also announced two different versions of the game: the Black Box Edition and the Day One Edition. The Black Box Edition will be $189 and sold exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store.

Contents of the Black Box Edition:

  • A sleek black Collector’s Edition box housing the below exclusive content.
  • The Nier: Automata game.
  • Exquisitely crafted YoRHa “2B” Figurine.
  • Hardback 64-page artbook detailing the stunning artwork and illustrations from the game.
  • Exclusive steelbook case featuring artwork from renowned Akihiko Yoshida (Final Fantasy XIV / Bravely Default).
  • Hauntingly beautiful soundtrack containing 13 live recorded songs from Nier and Nier: Automata, composed by veteran Keiichi Okabe from Monaca, Inc. (Tekken / Drakengard / Nier).
  • All Day One Edition digital content, including: Machine Mask Accessory, Grimoire Weiss Pod, Play System Pod Skin, Retro Grey Pod Skin, Retro Red Pod Skin, and Cardboard Pod Skin.

Nier Automata is being developed by Platinum Games with assistance from original team members from the first game, such as series creator Taro Yoko. Like the original, it will be published by Square Enix. The game will be available on Playstation 4 and PC.
