Wave Race, the long-dormant aquatic racing series, has been recently trademarked by Nintendo in Europe. The Wave Race series was last seen as a launch window title for Nintendo Gamecube. The series involves racing on jet skis and has featured career modes and split screen multiplayer, but has not seen a new entry in over 15 years. The trademark did not give an indication on what system, if any, Nintendo would release a new game on, so it could be for Switch, 3DS, or even mobile devices. This doesn’t mean a new game is in development at all, but it’s still an interesting development nonetheless.
