At Fantasia Bunko Big Thanks Festival 2016, it was announced that Sekina Aoi’s Gamers! light novel would receive an anime adaptation. Sekina Aoi is known for writing the Seitokai no Ichizon light novel series.

A synopsis of the series is provided by ANN:

The romantic comedy light novel series centers on the gaming lives of various high school students who play video games, including: Keita Amano, a lonely young man who loves video games; Karen Tendō, the beautiful president of the video game club; Chiaki Hoshinomori, who constantly fights with Keita; and Tasuku Uehara, who puts on a facade of being satisfied with his life in the real world, but he in truth loves video games.

Gamers! is written by Sekina Aoi and illustrated by Saboten. It is published by Fujimi Shobo under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. It was first published in 2014 and currently has 5 volumes released.
