Yen Press has announced some special news for the 10th anniversary of the Spice and Wolf novel series. A special collector’s edition omnibus will be released for the series in October. The omnibus will collect all 17 volumes of the series into one volume.

The collector’s edition omnibus will have a very limited run with only 2000 copies being produced. The omnibuses will all be hand numbered and it will have only one print run. Each cover of the original 17 volumes will appear in the book in full color at the beginning of the volume. All color inserts will be included as well.

Yen Press tweeted out a preview of the Spice and Wolf omnibus. You can check that tweet out below.

In addition to this news, Yen Press also announced that Isuna Hasekura would be a guest at this year’s New York Comic Con. Hasekura will have a panel there to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series and will sign about 100 copies of the omnibus after the panel concludes.

This is an awesome idea for Spice & Wolf fans. Having a high quality compilation of a series you love is great. I hope they have enough for everyone, but I guess they could make more.

$150 may seem like a lot, but it feels great when it is a series you love.

Well with 17 volumes out, that’s just under $9 each, which actually seems to be a little less than what they are going for individually. Combined with the fact that it’s a large format hardcover with color inserts, and it’s a great deal IMO.

    • Gurick

Having all 17 volumes in one book is certainly a big plus and imo beats trying to buy all 17 volumes individually. And like blackice said, I’m pretty sure it’s actually cheaper than buying the individual ones.

Also from what I can tell, it’s going to look fantastic. I think $150 is worth it to be honest.

In September will be released 18th Volume of S&W (and first vol. of second season) so this omnibus will not have all S&W included xP

Someone should really ask YP about 18th vol of “Spice and Wolf” and 1st “Wolf and Parchment”.

  • Panpopo

For those interested, rightstuf is selling it for $112. I decided to pick it up there cause way better deal than amazon.

    • blackice85

Thanks for that, cancelled my Amazon preorder for it. Normally I wouldn’t sweat a few dollars difference but that’s significantly cheaper.

It ends up being about the same amazon adds the import taxes and stuff in shipping for me from right stuff was going to be 30 so it was 150 vs 165 with import taxes not that bad I don’t want to cancel my preorder either because I want a low numbered copy.

    • Panpopo

I understand that completely. Having a low numbered copy is part of the fun of all this.

Didn’t click to me at first, but now I wish I bought the ticket for NYCC for the signature. Tickets ran out :/
