Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii, along with Yosuke Saito from Square Enix, were able to reveal new details about Dragon Quest XI at a CEDEC 2016 presentation. Courtesy of Gematsu, it was revealed that scenario for the game is complete and is currently being implemented into the game. Various tests are being run on the 3DS version’s 3D and 2D mode, as well as the PS4’s battle mode. It was also revealed that the game will feature casinos and the return of the Spell of Restoration. In the first two Dragon Quest games the Spell of Restoration was used as a password save system. It’s unknown if it will serve the same purpose in the upcoming sequel.
Dragon Quest XI is scheduled to release in Japan before the end of May 2017 on PS4, 3DS and NX.
