Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom

Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom has been announced for the PlayStation 4. The RPG will have a number of elements inspired from fighting games. Battles in the game will feature aspects such as combos, parrying, and dodging. Members of your party will have different skills and abilities for use in fights and figuring out puzzles.

A description of the story was released:

“Our story begins with Chado, a young Waki, who happens upon a mysterious spirit called a Shiness. This being refers to itself as Terra, and tells him that destiny has other plans for his life. Chado and Terra must go on a journey to find The Land of Life, which is located on a faraway Meteora (space island to simple folk).

The road to the Land of Life leads Chado and his four companions right into the middle of a war between two neighbouring nations, and a manhunt for two fugitives on the run. If Terra is right about all of this, these seemingly unrelated events may have an unseen web that binds them all together.”

A short trailer for the game was also released.

Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom will be coming to the PlayStation 4 sometime this year.

About Walter P

Plays too much, but still has too many games to finish. Will play any type of game and will watch anything, so is of course not good at being productive. Loves anything crazy.

That looks really cool, like something out of an animated movie. Always nice to have colorful, cel-shaded games on current day consoles. I love how so many smaller studios have been stepping up this gen.

I completely agree. The color tones really pop, and the just from the character designs it looks to have lots of personality. This is the first I’ve heard of this game but I am definitely going to keep an eye on this.

  • Lord Ackercocke

Looks good. Providing I don’t having to input any Street Fighter type moves the combat sounds interesting.

  • Zeonis

The trailer did not sell me on it but I am interested.

  • Mr0303

Sounds interesting and I like the colour palette. Curious to see more.
