planetarian: Hoshi no Hito

A new trailer for planetarian: Hoshi no Hito (planetarian: Star Person) was released along with a new key visual (pictured above). The film is set to premiere September 3rd.

The movie is part of an anime project that also includes a five-episode anime, planetarian: Chiisana Hoshii no Yume (planetarian: The Dream of the Small Star). The series recently wrapped up and is streaming over at Funimation.

The project is based on Visual Arts and Key’s visual novel, planetarian ~the reverie of a little planet~. Originally released in Japan over 10 years ago, the game was released in English by Sekai Project on Steam. A version for iOS was also released.

As a fan of the visual novel, I’m curious to see the film. The movie is reported to be new material not seen in the game. The series, on the other hand, is an adaptation of the game’s story.

Interesting annoucement. Never read the visual novels will have to do that as well.

The visual novel is pretty short. It probably took me 10 hours or less. It’s pretty good.

That’s really good to know, thanks. I will check it out now.

  • Finished watching the ONA yesterday. I do wonder if the movie is a recap or a continuation, though.
