The Australian Classifications Board website has posted its rating for the upcoming RPG Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy XV will be be receiving an “M” rating, meaning that it will be age 15+ in the region, unlike the North America “M” rating, meaning age 18+.
The ratings board has six areas of rating: themes, violence, language, drug use, nudity, and sex, with Final Fantasy XV getting mild impact to moderate impact on everything except drug use. Interestingly, the game received a mild impact on nudity.
One can assume this will have to do with costumes that some characters wear during the game, including Cindy. However, there could also be some scenes or costumes that have yet to be seen by the public. It’s good to mention, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII didn’t receive a nudity rating. Instead, the game was only rated in the sex category. This could be because of the revealing costumes obtained in the game. So it’s unsure right now if the costumes are the reason for the mild impact nudity rating for Final Fantasy XV.
Recently, the Australian Classifications Board was in the press about denying MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death for sexual themes.
We will be sure to update you if we get any updates before the game’s release.
Final Fantasy XV is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 30.
