Shoji Kawamori known for creating classic series such as Macross and Aquarion has a new animated series in the work and will be discussing more of it in his panel at Anime Expo on July 2nd. Check out more info in the press release below:

Animation director, vision creator Shoji Kawamori and Satelight Inc.(Suginamiky Tokyo, CEO: Michiaki Sato) would like to announce a new animated series at Anime Expo 2016 targeting the whole world.

Shoji Kawamori achieved great success in Japanese animation, well known for creating “MACROSS” series, “AQUARION” series, and “The Vision of Escaflowne,” mechanic designer of “Valkyrie,” “Transformer, ” and “Armored core.”

The new series is set in a near-future world where the boundary between human being and AI is vague. A rapid biological evolution, similar to “Cambrian Explosion,” is caused by one incident. This incident turns into the genesis of a new jostle for supremacy, and the influence of the evolution goes beyond biological framework and spread to various kinds of materials and technologies. The era of massive evolution involving diverse existences, such as human, machines and biotecnologies, is coming. Characters fight an existential war in such a world.

Xiamen Skyloong Media (Xiamen, CEO: Ye Haojun) joins the production, and this title is going to be launched globally.
