Monster Hunter Stories, an RPG spinoff of the popular Monster Hunter series, is coming to Japan on October 8. Courtesy of Gematsu, several new things were revealed for the game, including an all new series of amiibo figures. “One-Eyed Rathalos and Rider” will be available in male and female variants, along with a “Nabiru” figure. The amiibo will unlock unique monsters in the game, and another set of figures will launch in the winter.
Stories will also feature several retailer-specific monsters and collaboration character costumes. As a bonus, players who have save data for Monster Hunter Generations will get a special weapon. Finally, an anime series titled Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On is set to debut in October as well.
