Alan Young, actor and voice-over artist, has passed away at the age of 96. Young was a well established actor starring in the TV series “Mr. Ed” and the film “The Time Machine.” Perhaps his most memorable role, however, was the voice of Scrooge McDuck on the beloved animated series Ducktales, which will receive an all new show next year on Disney XD. Ducktales received a NES game developed by Capcom, which is considered one of the better platformers on the system. The game got an HD remaster developed by Wayforward in 2013, and Young reprised his role as “Uncle Scrooge,” despite being in his early 90s. Young also voiced Scrooge McDuck in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and Disney Magical World. Wayforward sent out the following tweet on Young’s passing.
Thank you Alan Young. You made us feel like the richest ducks in the world, and we'll miss you. pic.twitter.com/BMtjljsQjA
