We all love our Sony PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, don’t we? Great library, great hardware and a much improved virtual market have all been rewarding for PS4 owners during the platform’s life cycle. But Sony isn’t resting on the laurels of its success and current flat out market domination. They know that in this business, one’s position at the top of the heap is always tenuous and only as sound as the competition’s ability to respond and counter. Their marketing for the PlayStation 4 has been nothing short of brilliant as well, a trend that is not only welcome, if this new hype trailer is any indication, but is still highly entertaining.
The commercial, called Don’t Stop Lineup, is essentially a music video showcasing many of the forthcoming titles that PS4 owners will be able to enjoy in the months ahead, and the visuals are accompanied by a driving beat by Japanese pop stars tofubeats and Moga Mogami of the self described ‘otaku idol group’ Dempagumi.inc. It’s a killer track where the pair take turns singing about the games on display, has great hooks and fun lyrics that cleverly reference various characters and special attacks while managing to work in a few comments as to what each game will play like. Check it out to see for yourself just how cool a commercial really can be if done properly.
