Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins

Star Fox Zero is just over 24 hours away from release, and Nintendo is rolling out the red carpet for the furry space fighter pilots. After the surprising announcement of a Star Fox Zero animated short dubbed The Battle Begins, in collaboration with Production I.G. and WIT Studio,┬áthe entire 15 minute short has been officially released. While the animation may appear a bit choppy at times, it’s incredibly charming and highly cinematic. Plus, seeing the citizens of Corneria up close for the first time and Team Star Fox goofing around in the Great Fox is just pure nostalgic joy.

The Nintendo Treehouse crew also played around with both Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard. While it hasn’t been uploaded quite yet, oprainfall’s Aaron Evangelisti managed to grab a few screenshots, which you can find below. Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard are scheduled to come out April 22.
